Product details

A hand-painted keepsake of the ultrasound you can't stop looking at.

Whether you're carrying your first, a long-awaited IVF baby, a rainbow after loss, or honouring a baby you didn't get to bring home - this painting is made to hold what that scan means to you.

Every piece is painted by hand (never printed) on 300gsm artist paper using professional watercolours in the colour palette you choose. I'll hand-letter a name, date, gestational age, or short quote if you'd like - just let me know at checkout.

A meaningful gift for a new mum, an IVF journey, a pregnancy announcement, or a memorial for a baby lost too soon. Each painting arrives ready to frame, gift-wrapped with a personal note.

Materials & Care

Every piece starts as 300gsm, 100% cotton watercolour paper — the professional archival standard, chosen because it's built to outlast a nursery wall for decades, not just a few years on a shelf. Depending on the painting, I use either a hot pressed (smooth) or cold pressed (textured) finish.

The colour comes from Sennelier L'Aquarelle watercolours, handmade in France since 1887 using a honey-based formula that keeps the pigment richer and more luminous than standard student-grade paint. Every brush I use is cruelty-free nylon, never natural hair.

Caring for your painting:

  • Arrives ready to frame — no extra prep needed
  • Frame it at a local store, through a professional framer, or add a frame here at checkout
  • Avoid handling the painting itself directly where you can — the natural oils from fingers can affect the paper over time
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight, the way you would any watercolour or archival print, to protect the colour long-term
The Process

Every painting starts with your photo — a phone snap of the screen, a scanned printout, or a clinic file all work. If you're ever unsure whether your image will translate well to paint, message me before you order and I'll take a look.

From there, I paint your piece entirely by hand on archival watercolour paper, in the palette you've chosen. This isn't a print or a filter over your photo — it's a genuine watercolour painting, which is part of why no two pieces are ever identical.

Turnaround is currently 14–20 days from when I receive your image, because each painting is done individually, checked by hand, and given time to dry and set properly before it's packaged. If you're ordering for a due date, a baby shower, or another date that matters, message me first and I'll tell you honestly whether the timeline will work — I'd rather say so upfront than rush a piece that means this much.

Once finished, your painting is gift-wrapped with a personal note and shipped tracked — free within Australia on orders over $100, with international shipping available at checkout.

Guarantee

I want you to love what arrives, not just accept it. I don’t provide mock ups or preview photos (unless previously discussed) as I find the final pieces tend to evoke something different to a phone snapshot. That being said, if once it’s in your hands, your painting doesn't feel right — the colours are off, something about the likeness doesn't sit well, anything at all — message me within 14 days of delivery and together we’ll come to a fix.

This is hand-painted, one-of-one work, so variation between your reference photo and the finished piece is normal — it's part of what makes it a painting rather than a print. What I'm guaranteeing is that it's made with care and that you're genuinely happy with it, not that it's a pixel-perfect copy of your scan.

Made with intention

Every piece is painted on 300gsm 100% cotton watercolour paper - the professional archival standard - in either hot pressed (smooth) or cold pressed (textured) finish depending on the painting. I use Sennelier L'Aquarelle watercolours, handmade in France since 1887. Their honey-based formula enhances luminosity, improves paint flow, and acts as a natural preservative, resulting in colours renowned for their brilliance, creamy texture, and exceptional longevity. All brushes are cruelty-free nylon - a deliberate choice to avoid the animal harm involved in traditional sable and squirrel-hair brushes.
